Curriculum

We intend to use the Weekend Learning Islamic books (www.weekendlearning.com) to teach the Islamic Studies side of the classes.
The books cover our desired age ranges and are well planned and resourced. However we can change the lesson plans, go on trips and have activities that link to the Islamic calender where appropriate. But its good to have a file of lesson plans at hand for any of the parents to pick up and teach from.

Who we are

The Deen club has been organised by teachers and their wives who live in Dukhan, Qatar. We have around 7 families all from the UK, who all feel the need to have some kind of Islamic class to send our children to. We all have roles to take on in order for these classes to be successful and we intend to work together to cover the curriculum areas as follows: 1. Qaida/Quran (reading, Tajweed, vocabulary and memorisation of Surahs). 2. Islamic Studies (beliefs, Quranic studies, character and etiquettes, Duas and history). 3. Arts and Crafts (creativity, exploration, concept building, ideas, enjoyable learning and practicality).

What we want

To teach the religion of Islam to our children in order for them to become the best of Muslims. In order to do this we have set up two hour classes every Friday to teach our children about Islam and to have them recite the Quran. Because our children mashallah range from 2 years to 9 years, we have split the children into 2 groups: The Deen Stars (5 years and over) and The Deen Rainbows (under 5 years.) We hope the children are excited about attending these classes and leave at the end of the session having learnt a great many things about their deen inshallah
