Mashallah each and every child who took part did a fantastic job! A big jazakkullah khair to Sr. Nazra for organising the event. We hope this is the first of many fundraising ideas to bring awareness of charity to our children, Ameen.

The children continued with Quran studies with Br. Suffian and Br. Sykander. Sr. Yasmin took Hafsa out to do some more work on her pronunciation. 

For Islamic studies we have an exciting play coming up about Pr. Isa (AS). Sr. Moona prepared a lesson to give the children a better understanding of Pr. Isa (AS). We worked in pairs to brainstorm what we know about him. Sr. Moona read out information on his special mother Mariam (RA), his miracles and his prophet hood.

We didn’t get much writing done because the children had lots to discuss. Ma’moon asked a clever question, ‘who is the final prophet then...if Pr. Isa comes back?’ We discussed that Pr.Muhammed (SAW) is the last and final messenger, and he is dead and buried in Medina. But Pr. Isa is alive and will come back. He will also worship Allah (SWA) as Pr. Muhammed (SAW) has taught us. The lesson was deep and really enjoyable to watch.

Surah Naba and the Prophets of Islam and The Rainbows

Today Khadija joined the Deen Stars for the very first time! As mentioned earlier the Deen Club is for Muslim expat teachers, a good majority of the teachers have joined, but not all.

The children are continuing with Surah Naba with Br. Suffian, and Huda and Zahara are with Br. Sykander.

Sr. Nadia taught the Deen Stars about the different prophets of Islam. The children brainstormed the names of the prophets and wrote them down on a worksheet. Sr. Nadia talked about the role played by a prophet and how important it is to study their life.

The Stars answered questions in pairs or in small groups, and completed a spider chart of all the prophets they remember.

The Rainbows went over all of the duahs they have learnt with Sr. Nazra- hard work! But then they made a funky lava lamp complete with bright colours. The lid was glue gunned and screwed on (you can never be too careful!) before the shaky shaking started.
