For the Islamic classes, we started the children off
with understanding that although we cannot see Allah (SWA) he is still there.
In order to illustrate this, a blank piece of paper was shown and the children
were asked what is the on the paper? They said ‘nothing!’ Using black paint (to
get a better effect) the children watched the word ‘Allah’ appear on the paper.
The name ‘Allah’ was traced out in white
crayon before. We discussed that even though we cannot see Allah he is always
there, just as we couldn’t see the crayon mark.
The children then painted their own paper and watched the
name ‘Allah’ appear.
One wonderful moment was when Layth and Umar used a lot of
black paint, and Layth exclaimed, ‘Allah is so strong look at how his name is
still showing through!’
We finished off by looking at the signs of Allah (SWA)
through his creation in the universe. We
talked about their having to be something that has made the huge universe and
the tiny insects- Allah (SWA).
