Surah Naba and Pr. Ibrahim (AS)

The Deen Stars continued with Surah Naba with Br. Suffian. Hafsa and Zahara had Br. Sykander teaching them today.

For Islamic Studies, we finished off understanding the Hajj and Eid al-Adha. Br. Shizad explained in detail the story of Pr. Ibrahim (AS), and why he smashed the idols. The children acted out parts of the story using props and role play- to explain Hajjar’s search for water and the miracle of the Zam Zam.
They completed a fun worksheet together and discussed the answers.

Mashallah with the Rainbows

The Rainbows have learnt when to use the word ‘Mashallah’ (Allah wishes or willed.) We say this when we are appreciating something that is good. The children made some fantastic puppets, mashallah- see there you go that’s when we use the word ‘mashallah!’

Cycle for Syria

Sr. Nazra organised a bike ride as a way to raise money for Syria, and to educate the children on what is happening to the Syrian people. The children cycled roughly 2 km- which was a job well done considering it was hot and muggy day.

Our youngest rider was Rayan who being only 3 years old, did the entire trek on her scooter and wanted to do it again- mashallah!

The children received a special certificate for taking part.

All families are in the process of collecting up the money, watch this space for the grand total...

Eid al-Adha

Is Eid always the same old routine? Going to pray, eating, dressing up and chatting! Well the Deen Club wasn’t having any of that!!! We had an Eid day to remember! Each family was given a part of the Hajj to present in front of the other families. The performances were then judged by Br. Said, Br. Rayhan and Br. Anwar.
